Ever uploaded a plan summary in TExAS, but when you go to look at it the old one is still showing? Maybe you are entering a task report in TExAS and a field just won’t update? Is TExAS out to get you? Are you experiencing deja vu?
The answer is no (well….at least for most of you). While the database has stored the most current information, your internet browser has its own memory and its that memory bank that is not getting updated, which causes the old memories to be displayed. The way to correct this is to clear this memory, or in tech terms, the cache. Every program that runs in your browser can experience problems if the cache is not cleared periodically.
We have provided two fact sheets on how to clear the cache for both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. These documents have also been added to the TExAS Help and Contacts and on our Frequently Asked Questions page so they will be there for you each time you need them. It is advised you clear your cache on a regular basis, so set up an appointment on your calendar each month and remind yourself where the instructions are to make it easy. Don’t forget each browser version has its own Help as well and the instructions can be found there too.
While this won’t fix everything you experience, it will correct a lot and is an easy troubleshooting step to take. And it can help your sanity!
